iPhone 7 versus Google’s Pixel
Article By Anita Hemwani
Who will win iPhone-7 or Google’s pixel? We already know how Google Pixel is going to replace the Nexus range of smartphones. Pixel is manufactured by HTC, but it does come with the ‘G’ branding on it.
The surface of the Pixel phone feels smooth and the absence of a physical home button only adds to its sophisticated look.
It comes with a 5 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, whereas iPhone 7 has a 4.7 inch screen with a physical home button with a finger-print sensor in it. Pixel too provides a fingerprint sensor but on its rear.
Both the phones have a premium look with curved edges and look promising, though the absence of an audio-jack on iPhone 7 could be debatable.
Pixel provides better resolution at 441 ppi pixel density as compared to 326ppi of iPhone 7. Both the phones support multitouch and have Quad-core processors.
Pixel comes with a Li-Ion 2770 mAh battery that is expected to last an entire day, while iPhone has a shorter battery life of 14hours with a Li-Ion 1960 mAh battery, and is a little slimmer and lighter.
Pixel comes with an inbuilt Google Assistant which is better than Siri, and the first of its kind on an Android device with the Android Nougat, while iPhone has iOS 10.0.1 which could be upgraded to iOS 10.1
Pixel has the best camera at 12.3 MP with video stabilisation, phase detection and laser autofocus along with dual-LED flash,
and a 8MP front camera, while iPhone 7 comes with a 12MP primary camera and a 7MP front camera with face detection.
Pixel provides unlimited storage for original quality photos with Cloud support of Google Photos, while iPhone has a limited storage of 5GB.
Pixel is water and dust resistant, with IP53, but iPhone 7 has an edge over it with IP67 and could be submerged.
Who is faster? :
Pixel comes with a 4GB RAM thus making the loading of smaller and lighter apps faster,
but the iPhone still beats it at the ease of using high end applications, even though it has a 2GB RAM. Both the phones come in 32GB and 128GB models, but iPhone also provides a 256GB variant.
Pixel seems to be a little over-priced but it does provide the best-in-class features,
and a smoother experience with a better battery life than any other Android device.
With the discontinuation of Galaxy Note S7, Pixel is competing to be the best Android device,
and also targeting the class of iPhone users with its high price!
All in all, Pixel comes in with excellent camera and storage option,
and surely provides a good option to users looking for a better Android phone, with certain add-ins.
Both the phones come with similar specs, though Pixel provides a better resolution, front-facing camera
and battery life but it is safe to assume that the market of iPhone 7 is not going to be much affected
by the launch of Pixel phones.
